Many runners frequently begin running either because they want to lose weight, or to eliminate other bad habits in their lives such as smoking or drinking. Add to that the fact that running can help your cardio vascular system, help make you sleep better, give you an energy boost from the rush of endorphins to your system, help strengthen your core; the list is endless. Regardless of the reason, the overall benefits far out weigh the reasons not to run.

Running is one of the top activities for burning fat. In fact, with the exception of cross country skiing, running burns more calories per minute than any other form of cardiovascular exercise which also can be a great confidence booster.

It is one of the few sports that can be done almost anywhere with almost no gear. You need a good pair of running shoes and off you go. Trails, golf courses, sidewalks, parks, as long as you have your running shoes, the world is yours.
So stop making excuses. Whether it’s on a treadmill because the weather is awful or out on the roads, just get moving and start running. Your body and soul will be thankful you did!
